This little guy is a Zapi. He holds my tooth brush and sanitizes it too. Oh yeah, and he’s adorable.
I’ve been feeling under the weather but so far my morning Is off to an awesome start. I took the pup out for a romp at the dog park and had a great breakfast. Now I’m just sitting here with a cup of tea, watching Jean-Claude eat a piece of ice.
Life is perfect.
I need a break from work. I know exactly what I want.
ORANGE MOCHA FRAPPUCCINO!
I love how a great song can make you feel amazing. I feel sooo ready to conquer my day!
Thank you to Angus and Julia Stone – Big Jet Plane
Do you have a song that gets you moving in the morning?
The first signs of spring are showing and I feel like SHOPPING! Here’s what’s on my wishlist (and probably will never get) for the spring season:
So if you haven’t figured out the theme, I pretty much want to be covered in flowers. I love spring!
What’s your fave thing about spring?
Thursday morning started terribly. My new puppy cut his paws on some salt. I rushed him home and cleaned him up but was wracked with guilt by the time I had to leave for work.
I headed to the bus stop only to watch my bus drive away without me. Ugh. 10 seconds too late. I started to feel like Thursday was going to be a bad day until….
While waiting in the bus shelter, a girl (about the age of 4) started a conversation with me. “What’s that?” , she said, pointing to my coffee. That was the icebreaker. I can’t say that I’m particularly maternal but this little girl just got me. We talked about the colour pink. Our favourite cereal. Then, 1 minute before getting on the bus she buttoned up my coat and showed me her money for the bus .
Those 3-5 minutes turned my day around. Thank you, little girl in the pink snowsuit. Your kindness was exactly what I needed on this cold winter morning.
Do you have any stories about strangers who went out of their way to do something nice?
Research shows that pets can improve your health. Lower blood pressure. Lessen anxiety. Get you active. So what took us so long to get a dog?
After living almost a year and a half without a pet, my boyfriend and I have finally made the ultimate commitment to bring home a little bundle of snuggly joy. We brought our new french bulldog home on Saturday morning and it’s been love since then.
Of course it’s going to be a lot of work but this puppy is seriously making taking care of a puppy seem easy. He loves’s his crate. Naps most of the day and is halfway towards being housebroken at 10 weeks! *sigh*
How does your pet bring you joy?
Yes. You read right. Today, my wildest dreams have come true.
You’d think working in the ad biz would make me less susceptible to products so obviously marketed to women, but this product just speaks to me. It feels right. And it’s PINK!
I know what I’m serving at my next girls night.
What’s your favourite wine when entertaining your ladies?
So this past long weekend was a combo Valentine’s Day and Family Day fun fest. I won’t go into the mushy details, but lots of love was spread around. Great family moments were had, etc, etc, and so forth. You get the idea. It was awesome. I feel absolutely recharged and ready to go back to work.
But wait.
Thanks to some clever planning, I stretched my 3 day weekend into a 4 day weekend. Nothing big was planned for today. Just some me, myself and I time.
One of my favourite things, since moving in with the love of my life over a year ago, is to have the apartment to myself. These are rare moments when my girlishness goes undisturbed.
Here’s what I did today:
The Secret Life of Bees is one of those movies that makes crying your eyes out feel good.
Girly music: Any song from the Cocorosie album “Le maison de mon reve” (translation: The house of my dreams)
Playing this album during domestic drudgery (ie-chores) makes me feel less ordinary.
I know it’s winter out, but just putting on a spring dress makes me feel fabulous.
What would you do on a random day off?
